Knuckles Is Ready To Box In New Trailer For His Paramout Plus Spin-off Series
The latest Sonic film from Paramount Pictures emphasized how the title hedgehog is useless without his companions, while the company’s upcoming Knuckles spinoff series, starring Idris Elba, appears to teach viewers how echidnas manage (largely) on their own.
Focusing on Knuckles’ (Idris Elba) new existence in Green Hills, Montana, where he, Sonic (Ben Schwartz), and Tails (Colleen O’Shaughnessey) have developed into a sort of alien family, the film takes place in between the events of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and the planned third installment.
Maddie Wachowski (Tika Sumpter), who has spent years attempting to be a good role model for Sonic, is overjoyed to having Knuckles around, if only because he can genuinely keep up with the hedgehog. Even though Knuckles is skilled at exhausting his allies, he is a warrior with a strong desire for vengeance and isn’t the best fit for life in a small town.
That appears to be what motivates him and small-town police officer Wade Whipple (Adam Pally) to search the world for deserving adversaries. Wade and Knuckles soon discover, though, that many former Robotnik employees are eager to turn Knuckles’ abilities into a weapon after Sonic 2.
Additionally, the teaser suggests that Scott Mescudi, Ellie Taylor, and Rory McCann—the show’s antagonists—may possess the skill and cutting-edge technology required to eliminate their target.
With only six episodes, Knuckles is more of a substantial piece of storytelling designed to tide viewers over until the echidna returns to the big screen and first encounters with a particular enigmatic hedgehog. However, the show’s succinctness and Knuckles’ eye-catching action scenes seem like the kind of things that could help it succeed when it premieres on Paramount Plus on April 26.
